Day 77: Coffee
A dark decaf coffee with creme and a packet of brown sugar goes rather well with a slice of lemon chess pie topped with blueberries. Delicious end to a delicious meal.
She sat across the table, stared at the coffee cup. “Hmm. I don’t understand what the point of decaf coffee is.”
An odd stare from the person sitting across from her. “That’s interesting.”
She shrugged, gave a small laugh as she replied. “Well, I drink coffee for the caffeine, so if there is no caffeine, there’s nothing in it for me.”
More laughter. More jokes. More dessert. And more looking forward to many more meals involving decaf and caffeinated coffee all around throughout the year.
Day 61: Best Friend
There for you when you laugh, sob, make silly faces at the camera. Tell you all about their wild experiences at parties, unique tastes at random restaurants, bitter memories at crossroads with old friends. Make you feel happy and joyful and strangely satisfied with the fact that someone somewhere in this world actually wants to talk to you normally and identify with you, no matter how different they are from you.
What else are friends for if not to be best friends?
Day 47: Laughter
Ringing like a bell. Charming the cute boys sitting down the way. Making others smile. Collapsing tension like the Berlin Wall falling to the ground. A happy thing. A wonderful thing. A lovely thing. A thing to make life better no matter how difficult it may get.
